To Work or Not To Work- A Student’s Dilemma!
by vaizo
http://waysforkidsmoney.com/
Although kids in developed world countries don’t have to work to earn their daily bread, it is sometimes advisable to gain some casual work experience in early years. If you ever see a kid peddling down to do his paper-rounds in hurry, just imagine the satisfaction after each day’s shift. Let’s outline some of the reasons why kids should work if they can-
- Gain Early Insights About the Professional World- Kids can learn how professionals operate. Most kids are only ever exposed to their family or school environment, but working atmosphere is very different from them.
- Pick Up new Skills- When you work as a kid you’ll surely pick up lots of new skills. You will learn to shoulder responsibility, you’ll know how to stick to deadlines, and you’ll learn to listen and communicate better.
- Identify Your Strengths And Weakness- This is great way to realise your strength areas. For example, if you work and excel in handy DIY kind of jobs you can safely figure out that you’ll be good with mechanical jobs.
- Learn the basics of finance- Doesn’t matter how much pocket-money you get to handle from your parents, working wages will teach you the absolute basics of money management. Best of you’ll learn to understand the value of money.
So go out and do whatever you can in your spare time. After all life’s lessons are gained from doing stuff not just watching someone else do it.

Melai Cantiveros: A Fun, Fearless Female Awardee for 2010
PBB's Melai Cantiveros: The Confident Comedienne
A Fun, Fearless Female Awardee for 2010, PBB Double Up's Big Winner talks about the highs and lows of showbiz with her signature sense of humor.
Posted on May 4, 2010 10:00 am
by Regina Belmonte, Cosmo.ph Staff Writer
Pinoy Big Brother Double Up's final housemate, Melissa "Melai" Cantiveros, is famous for her 100-words-a-minute motormouth, infectious sense of humor, and no-nonsense attitude about her newfound fame and how fleeting it could be. Cosmo talks to the newly minted star and Fun, Fearless Female 2010 awardee about her new showbiz life and everything she loves and hates about it.
What do you like most about being famous?
You now have your own shows, right? What's the most difficult thing about being an artista?
Ang pinakamahirap sa akin 'yung acting. 'Yung mag-acting, mag-drama. Dapat daw natural. E hindi natural sa 'kin. Sobrang nahirapan ako mag-drama!
Is showbiz really what you've always wanted in life?
Showbiz?
Kung sakaling magsawa ka sa showbiz, do you still want to be a teacher?
You're known for being frank. Where did you get that aspect of your personality?
(laughs)
You said you are part of a women's group in Gen San. What's your advocacy?
Advocacy? 'Yung kabataan, instead na mag-drugs o mag-rugby, mag-sports na lang tayo. Basketball. Walang masama sa
sports, healthy pa tayo. At saka doon din kami sa aming lugar nag-focus. Pagkatapos sa lugar namin, doon naman sa kabilang barangay
How do you think you serve as an inspiration for women and Pinoys in general?.
Okay? Pwede rin kayo gumanda katulad ko. Mag-makeup lang kayo!

Twilight Saga: Eclipse (They've spoken, What's yours?)
Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Why Twillight Saga (Film Series) always hit the headlines?
*It comes from a novel.... it always captures the fantasy world which why people love it!
>>>> Jell
*The only reason I decided to read the Twillight saga, even though it is a book clearly geared towards the female audience, is because it was recently made into a motion picture and I like reading the books before I watch the film. And I love to watch the film which I have read!!!!
>>>> tom
* The actors fit well to their roles especially : Isabella "Bella" Swan, Edward Cullen and Jacob Black ..... They are born for the movies (-:
>>>>> May anne
* It is recommended for everyone.... Since the release of the first novel, Twilight, in 2005, the books have gained immense popularity and commercial success around the world. The series is most popular among young adults....
>>>>> Gim
*GREAT BOOK AUTHOR!!!!!
Stephanie Meyer has succeeded in created gripping characters that you can identify with, even if it is just silently cringing and some of the situations that Bella always seems to get herself into. Anyone who has had their heart broken will be able to identify with the destructive spiral Bella fell into in book 2 when Edward left. Stephanie Meyer also seems to have mastered the knack of suspense and once the series gets going, you will be hard pressed to put it down.
>>>>> Jimuel
* Twilight saga books add up the interest to compare it with the movie so everyone's looking forward to watching in it's every release...
>>>>> Glemily
* The fact that the movie emphasizes the link between human beings and vampire: sauna kaaway ang vampire karon kay amigo na uyab pagyud @_@ ( we used to think that vampires are scary and considered as human enemies, but it shows the contrary on these series)!
>>>>> Cindi
*In my humble opinion, I feel that reviewers that are debating the morality of a girl dating a vampire are all being pretty narrow minded and should all get over themselves. It is a fantasy fiction movie from a fantasy fiction book for heavens sake and I am pretty sure the books fan base know this as well. In my opinion, what makes the movie always a blockbuster is the fact that is a story of a love that is not meant to work out.

How the candidates handle their campaign speaks volume on how they will handle this nation. It’s sad to see that this campaign period, though already in the 21st century, is still much uncivilized. Someone said it’s the dirtiest campaign since 1960s. Campaigning for the presidency should not be fueled by hatred or anger. It shouldn’t be focused on mudslinging or maligning your opponents. The way other presidentiable’s handle their campaign is very insulting to the Filipinos. I think we deserve more than the negative campaigning they are throwing daily at our face through the mainstream media. How can these presidentiables bring positive change if their campaigns are fueled by hate, anger, and mudslinging?
“For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.”
Matthew 12:34
Before the campaign started, I recall that these candidates promised to be always positive in their campaigns. Above all them, only Gibo stood to this promise. Until now, he stands on his promise and has executed positive campaigning. He refrained from putting down his opponents by saying bad things against them. Even though he’s been targeted from within his own party and from without, he still refuse to break his own principle of positive campaigning. He indeed embodies a new breed of politics.
“A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his tongue.”
Proverbs 11:12
Though Gibo is not a biblical Christian, his campaign showed christian traits...not driven by hatred, no mudslinging, no badmouthing, very professional. I remember the Good Samaritan story. It wasn't the Jews who were declared righteous, but the Samaritan. Why? Because his acts are righteous.
“Gibo maintains the highest form of professionalism in his campaign.”
– REP. CYNTHIA VILLAR (Wife of Presidentiable Manny Villar)
http://www.facebook .com/video/ video.php? v=1384925307040&ref=share
“Teodoro is the only presidential candidate with the three important attributes a good president must have, integrity, competence and character”

COMPETENCE
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ------
“Choose wise, understanding, and knowledgeable men from among your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.”
Deuteronomy 1:13
It’s sad to know that numerous people used to trade intelligence, knowledge, and ability over popularity and some empty slogan. Yet the Bible made a great emphasis on these things in choosing leaders. First above all requirements in bagging this top job must be competence. In all job applications, competence is the default priority requirement. We don’t just choose someone who will come up and say great words which are not backed up by their track records.
Obviously, among the 8 presidentiables, the most competent is Gibo. It’s very clear that even blind people can see that he’s the brightest among them all. Yes, even his opponents acknowledge this.
Look at what his fellow public officials and top personalities are saying about Gibo:
“Dependable, thoroughly professional, incomparably competent…”
– Former PRESIDENT FIDEL V. RAMOS
http://www.youtube. com/watch? v=Wj22UyPROZ0
“personal background wise, Gibo is the most qualified among presidential aspirants.”
– SEN. MIRIAM DEFENSOR-SANTIAGO
http://www.philstar .com/Article. aspx?articleid= 505964
“the most qualified person”
“Gibo is an upright man, intelligent, articulate. I have high respect for him,”
– Former PRESIDENT JOSEPH “Erap” ESTRADA
http://newsinfo. inquirer. net/inquirerhead lines/nation/ view/20100415- 264346/Estrada- on-Teodoro- What-a-pity- hes-most- qualified

– SEN. JUAN PONCE ENRILE
http://newsinfo. inquirer. net/breakingnews /nation/view/ 20091227- 244190/Enrile- If-not-Estrada- its-Teodoro- for-me
“Gibo is a decent and qualified candidate. That much I can say because I know him personally. We worked together when I was still lieutenant colonel and I’ve got nothing to say against him.”

Gibo’s platform is a cut above the rest. His platform is crystal clear and realistic. He does not suffer from the messianic disease which infected the other candidates. They claim to be greater than Jesus. They claim to eradicate poverty and corruption in six years which even Jesus wasn't able to and can't do in this present world. He needs to make a new earth to make that happen. Erase corruption and poverty? Those are pure LIES. No one, when you read the Bible, can do that in this fallen world. They promise big words without clear platform on how to bring progress in this country.
Instead of laying their platforms, the “leading” presidentiables are banking on Pres. Gloria Arroyo’s low rating. It is funny that these candidates should be thankful to PGMA because without her “bad reputation”, they have nothing to base their candidacy.
I thoroughly understand that you can’t lead people without a vision and a clear plan on how to fulfill that vision. Empty rhetoric will lead you to nowhere. This nation if led by someone without a vision and a plan will only be reduced to chaos. That is why the candidate’s vision and platforms are very crucial in choosing whom to vote.
Did you ever give enough time and effort just to know your chosen candidate’s vision and platform? Did you ever compare it to the other candidates?
“Mr. Teodoro pointed out specific programs, specific goals and specific time lines to achieve such goals. He’s very articulate.. . We think he’s very good."

“As usual Gibo (Teodoro) was MOST IMPRESSIVE.” Speaking to reporters after yesterday’s presidential debate, Dee said Teodoro’s platform and answers stood out against other aspirants who attended the forum.

CHARISMA
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ------
Throughout history, great leaders always have a high level of charisma. Wherever he goes, when people see him and hear him, they tend to be attracted to him. He used to inspire people to go beyond the status quo, to go beyond which is mediocre.
In building this nation, unity is of utmost importance. We need a leader who can unite us together and lead us forward to our great destiny as a nation. Most of the presidentiables are very divisive. And most of them have already entered into a verbal war against each other. How can they unite this nation if they have planted much division right now in their campaigns? The only one who has the biggest chance to unite this nation is the one who is able to restrain himself from resorting to bad-mouthing, mudslinging, hatred and anger. And that is Gibo.

How about PGMA?
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ------
Actually, majority of people know in their hearts that indeed Gibo is the most qualified for the presidency. The only thing which holds them back is his association with President Gloria M. Arroyo. It is highly proven; even acknowledged by his opponents that Gibo’s integrity is untainted. To judge him just because he is under the administration is totally unfair. If the same standard of judgment be used against all of us, then we will never be chosen for any kind of job. Why? Because I bet all of us have one way or the other have “evil” associations.Jesus was with Judas for more than 3 years. Does it mean Jesus equals Judas? This only needs minimal common sense to arrive at the right conclusion.
MY CONCLUSION:
As a student, I was thought that before making any decisions, or hiring a person, weigh all the credentials and who among the applicants has the tools and programs that can lead to better tomorrow. Decide whom you thinks is the greatest with regards to character, competence, platform, and charisma rather than being tossed by every wind that comes along.
Think, which is more important, TO HIRE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE JOB? or TO HIRE THE WRONG PERSON FOR THE JOB?
lets hire the RIGHT PERSON FOR THE JOB not HIRE A PERSON BECAUSE HE WAS THROWN BY EMOTIONS. Lets hire a person with substance not style.
Tough time requires strong leadership and there is not time for on-the-job-training .
As for me, I’m placing my vote to Sec. Gilbert Teodoro, Jr. I can say he is indeed a rare kind in Philippine politics. Win or lose, I don’t care. At least I have a clear conscience that I voted the best man for the job. At least I won’t be having some kind of guilt and regret when our country is again under the leadership of incompetent ones. Actually it is never Gibo’s loss when he loses. It is the country’s loss.
LASTLY:
1. I dont hire a person because his accomplishment is being a son of former senator and president.
2. I dont hire a person because my emotion dictates more than my rational being.
3. If we hire a person without experience to take care of our future, what do we get in return?
It is like you own a company, do you trust a person to manage your company without experience? or with experience?
100% you will tell me that I will hire a person WITH EXPERIENCE.
4. I am young but I wont trust a person TO TAKE CARE OF MY FUTURE because his mom just died, emotions are high and we let him become president.
5. He has "clean image" because he prefer to say at the side, he prefer to just keep silent. Maybe if he become president, he will just be as silent as when he was a congressman and senator.
7. He should have walk his talk not talk and forget.

God Bless the Philippines. And, may our Sovereign, Loving, Eternal, Living, Almighty God shine His face upon us all as a people.
Vote wisely, imploring God's wisdom, knowledge and understanding
in selecting our next President to lead us as people . . .
I come across to this idea: If animals could be faithful and loyal, then why can't we human beings do better than them?
We have millions of reasons to be better than any other animals on this planet... both scientifically and physically....
I can't say it's a turning point or a learning session because I am certain we all are aware of this reality. But it's for sure an unforgettable moment having a chance to cry and be reminded that I should be better than a dog or any other animals.... ^_^
At least to feel and prove that I am human!
I would strongly recommend this story to anyone who loves pets and those who forget the essence of our existence. We deserve to be loved *(loyally) , must be given a time to laugh *(loudly) and of course live *(luckily)....
Of course with that matter, we need to do our responsibilities in return....
To LOVE loyally,
LAUGH loudly,
and LIVE luckily....
EVERYDAY!!!!
